HOW TO CREATE FLAWLESS SUNSET-INSPIRED COLOR GRADIENT NAILS

We should have heard such a word, the most beautiful red is sunsetthen do you want to keep this beauty? Today, I will share the technique step by step on how to execute a color blend for a sunset-inspired look.

Step 1:

1 Prep the nail and apply gel base coat. Cure. Then, apply one coat of white gel polish and cure. (Note: White polish enhances the vibrancy of lighter polish shades). Next, apply fuchsia gel polish to the top 1/3 of the nail. Do not cure.

Step 2:

Apply orange gel polish to the center of the nail, making sure the color does not meet the fuchsia gel polish. Then, use the gel polish brush to push the orange gel polish toward the fuchsia gel polish. (Note: Pushing the gel polish colors to meet will help prevent color contamination on your gel polish bottle brushes.) Do not cure.

Step 3:

Repeat Step 2 with yellow gel polish.

Step 4:

Hold a detail brush perpendicular to the client’s nail. Using light pressure, gently move the detail brush left to right and right to left at the point where the two colors meet. As you swipe the brush from side to side, simultaneously move the brush up and down to achieve a seamless blend. Cure. Apply the color gel polish again, repeating Steps 1-4. Finish with gel top coat and cure.
It's so easy, right? Now let's do this sunset gradient nails!

Thermal Nail Polish, Temperature Changing Color, Amazing!

Have you ever heard Temperature Changing Color nail polish? I think this is a great invention, do you think monochromatic nail polish is a little monotonous? Thermal Nail Polish perfectly solve the problem. It will change color with the temperature. Do you want to try it?

The Critical discoloration temperature of Thermal Nail Polish is 22 degrees, the color becomes shallow, and even disappeared when the temperature increased, on the contrary, the color will become darker in the low temperature.

In addition, if the nail is relatively long, the temperature of the fingertip part is low in the cold weather, fingertip color will become dark.

This is the charm of temperature change color nail polish.

I think every beauty should have a bottle of Thermal Nail Polish.

How To Find The Best LED Nail Lamp

We all want to have super-fantastic nails, but a lot of the time it’s the case that we can’t afford the price tag coming with them. Whether you want long nail extensions, or you simply want to have a color for every weekend, it is entirely possible to obtain salon-quality nails at home, provided you purchase the right equipment for the job.
If you want to have those shiny, strong nails you see on salon advertisements, you need to find the best LED gel lamp for your needs, as well as making sure you don’t go over budget, and also that your favorite polishes are compatible with the type of lamp.
Never fear, however! We are going to talk about what to look for when searching for the best LED nail lamp for gel nails and we’re also going to talk a little about the UV nail lamp too, just to bring the whole subject into a full circle.
UV Gel Nail Lamp

Where do you start?
Well, first things first, what type of nails do you want to achieve? Most people love the shine and strength of gel, and in that case, you need gel polish and you need a lamp. Shellac is one of the most famous types of this nail version on the market currently, and this is entirely possible to achieve at home, with a little practice.
There are ways to use gel nail polish without actually using a UV or LED nail lamp also, however these may lack the overall strength of nails which have been cured under a lamp.
What is curing? Basically this is the process of allowing your nails to dry and strengthen with the aid of a lamp, either LED light or UV light. You can choose between the two types of lamp, and we’ll discuss the pros and cons of each in a short while.
For this chat however, we are focusing mainly on the best LED nail lamp for your personal needs, because of most nail polishes cure well with LED light. Having said that, you shouldn’t assume that the best UV nail lamp doesn’t work with nail polishes, it’s really a case of checking on the polish packaging.
Okay, so let’s talk about what you need to think about before you decide on the best LED nail lamp for gel nails.

#1 - Budget

You need to set yourself a budget and stick to it. If you’re a beginner, don’t spend too much, because you may find that gel nails aren’t for you!
Of course, this is unlikely, and having a curing lamp in your house will give you the flexibility to give yourself a great set of nails for a special occasion, without having to head to the salon.
If you go to the salon for your nails regularly, you should probably add up how much this is costing you over a year – it is, therefore, probably cheaper to do it yourself and consequently, finding the best LED gel lamp is a more pressing concern!

#2 - The types of nail polishes you regularly use

We touched upon this briefly, but you need to know that the type of nail polishes you like and regularly use are compatible with the type of lamp you’re going for. UV lamps generally work to cure all polishes, whereas LED curing lamps only cure LED nail polishes.
If you enjoy using Shellac, you will need to find the best UV nail lamp for you, because certain ones don’t work so well with LED nail lamps. Having said that, most big named nail polishes on the market do work with LED nail lamps aside from Shellac, so it’s really a case of checking the small print on the packaging before you make your final decision.

#3 - The changes in curing time

On the whole, LED nail lamps cure polishes much quicker than UV lamps, averaging around 30 seconds per layer, compared to 90 seconds per layer on a UV lamp.
If you’re pushed for time, LED is, therefore, better for you and it is also thought to be much more energy efficient as a result. LED bulbs also never need to be replaced, whereas UV bulbs do.

#4 - Warranty options

The length of warranty will totally depend on the brand you go for and where you purchase it from. This is something you should look into carefully because you get a large amount of peace of mind when you have a warranty to fall back on.

#5 - Added extras

When shopping around for the best LED nail lamp for your particular needs, you need to check out the various added extras on offer too.
For instance, some lamps have timers you can set for custom performance, some have motion sensors which turn the lamp off when you remove your hand, therefore, saving energy, and some have fans included. Another plus point is a lamp which has a detachable bottom, because that way you can use it for pedicure curing, as well as manicure curing.
DIY gel nails are not that difficult, and it's really about patience. You should always ensure that you allow each layer of the gel polish to cure completely before adding another – sometimes it's hard to stay patient, but if you rush this process, you're simply going to end up with ruined nails from the get-go. What The Tip of Your Lipstick Says about Your Personality

You have probably heard that some of the things we do in our everyday lives define us as the people we are. For example, your favorite coffee reveals part of your personality. Do you prefer to drink black coffee, or cappuccino is the one for you? Your choice reveals something about your personality, even though you had no idea it could mean such a thing.

Today we have prepared something similar for you, but this time it does not include your personal taste, but something that resembles more of a habit, or something that involuntarily do without even realizing they are doing it. And now it is time to make it clearer to you what we are talking about.
The tip of your lipstick reveals something about your personality. You know after you have used your lipstick for some time that the initial shape has changed a little, and if not completely.
So, if you want to know what the tip of your lipstick reveals about your personality, first you need to look it up to make sure what its shape is, and then read the following part of the article to find out what it says about you. And here are all the lipstick tips.

#1 Rounded tip to a point
If the lipstick you have been using is rounded, but it still has a point, then you have a very polarizing personality. Some people adore you, while others dislike you a lot. Which, of course, is not a bad thing. After all you do not need all the people in the world to like you. You are happy with the friends you have and the situation is fine with you. You are proud with this part of your personality. You openly state your opinion even if there is a chance that you might offend somebody. You are also brave, and you take a lot of risks. And that is exactly why the most successful people in the world achieve their goals.
#2 Flat top concave
Do not mistake this flat top with the rounded one, because the personality characteristics will be a little different. You are quite a sociable person and that is why you are often in the center of attention wherever you go. It does not matter if this happens when you are with your friends and relatives, or if you have just met some people. That makes some people not so fond of you, but you are mostly loved because of your positivism.
#3 Sharp diagonal tip
You know when you buy a lipstick its shape naturally is with a sharp and diagonal tip. If you prefer to apply your lipstick the way it is, without changing its original shape, then you take care of your things and you want to keep them as good as new. But not only this, this shape of the lipstick shows that you are born leader. You know what you want in your life and how to achieve it. However, this is when it comes only to your work. As for your personal life, it is a bit of a mess there. You often are afraid from commitments. You often have second thoughts about the decisions you have made. And that is mostly why you rely so much on the others’ opinions. The one thing that is good about it is that you are able to hide your insecurities. You make it look like you have made the decisions yourself.
#4 Sharp angles on both sides
If you apply lipstick on and you leave two sharp sides with a sharp tip, you are quite a flirtatious person. Even if you are in a relationship, you do not mind to talk with that cute boy you have met in in the club. It is a bit annoying and it could also be the reason why you break up with your partner. However, at one point in your life, you should escape from this behavior of yours and commit with your partner. Another part of your personality is that you like traveling and partying, and I mean a lot. You can dance all night long in a club somewhere far away from your home. Yes, you are definitely a party animal.
#5 Rounded smooth tip
You are very lovable and affectionate person. You can easily like a person, a couple of minutes after you have met them. You are very gentle and are worried not to hurt anybody with something you have said. Your family is the most important thing in your life, and your home is its representation. You take care both of your family and your home. You keep it tidy and clean, and you even do not look at it as a chore, but you quite enjoy it. It is not surprising that you love traditions and you like when all the family gathers on holidays.

15 Resolutions For A More Beautiful and Healthy You

15 Resolutions For A More Beautiful and Healthy You

1. Walk 20 minutes every day. There are about a thousand of reasons why walking is good for you and I’m sure you know most of them. So let’s make a deal, starting from today we’ll make time for a 20-minute walk. Whether it’s to buy groceries, get a coffee, visit Sephora or simply go for a walk around the block with your friends.
2. Exercise for 20 minutes 3 times a week. It doesn’t need to be a full on work out at the gym, you can totally exercise at home. No special gear required. Here’s a great list of home exercises. Just do one for your arms: push ups, one for your belly: plank and one for legs: squats. Alternatively, replace your daily 20-minute walk with a 20-minute run at your own pace.
3. Try 1 new yoga pose every day. It’s not a coincidence that most supermodels and celebrities are into yoga. It’s just that good! Attending yoga classes is not possible for everyone, but practicing yoga at home is. Here’s some great tips for yoga at home and here’s a full list of yoga poses with instructions. Some of them look complicated, but believe me, after a year of trying you’ll be able to do the same or at least get close.
4. Eat 1 portion of fruit every day. Apple, banana, mango… whatever it is you like the most. Make having fruit at home a priority, when you’re doing that 20 minute walk to the local grocery shop, get some fruits for yourself. Put them in the most visible place in your kitchen. Every time you have cravings for something sweet, make a conscious choice to eat fruit instead.
5. Limit your intake of sweets to 1 portion per day. Everybody knows eating a lot of bad sugars isn’t good for you but can you really give up all those delicious ice creams and chocolate? Honestly, I cant. So why not to just limit the amounts? For instance, it can be a muffin in the morning, or dessert in the evening, you choose. That way you’ll still satisfy your sweet tooth without skyrocketing your daily calorie intake.
6. Eat 1 portion of vegetables every day. It can be anything, a salad with vegetables or a warm dish, as long as it involves… vegetables. Chips and fries don’t count.
7. Take multivitamins daily. Even if you have a nutritious diet, good multivitamins can significantly help to improve overall well being and your skin, hair and nails. I like Swisse Women’s Ultivite.
8. Establish and maintain a proper daily skincare routine. Cleanse, tone and moisturize your face every morning and every evening, every day. RELIGIOUSLY. Executing a basic 3-step skin care regimen is central to having the healthy, attractive skin that you want. Weekly moisturizing and/or cleansing masks is a great bonus. Finally, DO NOT skip washing your face before you go to sleep. EVER.
9. Invest in great quality skincare. It always amuses me when people are willing to spend their money on drinks and dinners out but when it comes to skin care it’s always “No money”. In general, the amount you spend on one dinner out equals buying (at least!) one really good moisturiser. A moisturiser will last at least 6 months and your skin will thank you*. So what do you choose? A younger looking, glowing face or a hangover? Spend wisely and there will be always be money for your skin needs.
10. Drink at least 2 liters of water every day. As Zoolander said “Water is the essence of life”… Ok, just joking, but seriously, here’s 10 great reasons why drinking more water is good for you. Fuzzy drinks, hot tea and coffee don’t count. In fact, fuzzy drinks are full of sugar, so refer to Point 5. Yep, only 1 per day allowed ;)
11. Invest in a great hand cream and cuticle oil. I often hear “I use hand cream daily but it does nothing to my hands”. Well, try a different one, maybe level up and you’ll notice a difference. The same as with skin care, consider it an investment. Here’s a selection of great, affordable hand creams.
12. Avoid using nail polishes that contain any of the big 3 chemicals. Even better – go 5 free. I guess you all know why – Dibutyl Phthalate, Formaldehyde, Toluene (also Formaldehyde Resin, and Camphor) are best to be avoided. If not, in one of our future ‘Expert advice’ articles we’ll explain in great detail exactly why.
13. Spend 30 minutes everyday to unwind. Even in the busiest of times you surely can find 30 minutes to dedicate to yourself. Read a magazine, paint nails, take a bath or maybe try 5 new poses of yoga instead of just 1. Yoga is excellent for unwinding – Point 3 accomplished.
14. Reward yourself every week. Did you do that 20 minutes at home work out? Awesome! Reward yourself with something that you really wanted for a long time, maybe get one of the polishes you coveted for so long! Having a mini reward system in place often can help to do even the most difficult tasks.
15. Don’t give up. Persist. It takes time to establish healthy habits. So if at some point you’ll realise that you’ve ‘forgotten’ about one or two of your resolutions, make that neglected resolution your priority next week. Surely you can find those 20 minutes for a walk, after all – it’s your body and it’s totally up to you how it looks and feels. So make an effort, persist and you’ll see the change. You’re totally worth it!
So here’s to a more healthy and beautiful 2017!

Top 5 Tips for Keeping Your Hands Forever Young

You can make your face look younger with makeup, dye your hair to cover the greys but what can you do to improve the appearance of hands? Well, actually quite a lot if you start early! This may not be a huge concern when you’re 18 but believe me, when you pass 25, your concerns start to rise with every new spot and wrinkle. Of course it’s impossible to stay forever young, but there are plenty of things that can be done to prolong the youth of your hard working hands.
Keeping Your Hands Forever Young

Top 5 tips for younger looking hands:

1. Moisturise Intensively: Apply hand cream every time after washing the hands and whenever they feel dry or dehydrated. It’s absolutely crucial for preserving your hands’ youth.
2. Apply Your Hand Cream Properly: The best way to apply hand lotion is to squeeze it onto the back of your hand and rub the back’s of your hands together. Then spread the lotion out with your palms to finish. You’ll end up delivering the bulk of the product to the part that needs it most.
3. Keep It Rich: The skin on the back of your hands is very different to the skin on your palms. The skin on top of your hands is much thinner and has less sebaceous glands, meaning it can become dry very quickly. In comparison, the skin on your palms is a lot thicker, so for moisture to penetrate this area a hand cream needs to be rich and full of moisture binding ingredients.
4. Gloves Are Girl’s Best Friend: I would recommend using a hand cream at night and putting gloves on top while you sleep. The gloves will protect against moisture loss. During the day apply moisturiser just to the backs of your hands (which are usually the driest) leaving your fingertips and palms grease-less.
5. Size Matters: If you are using an oil hand cream such as pure jojoba, then just one small pump would be enough. If you are using more of a cream based hand cream, then a 10 cent coin size should be enough. It depends really on how dry the hands are and what the consistency of the hand cream/oil/lotion is.
What are your best tips for keeping your hands looking young? Anything else that you’d add to the list above?

Tutorial: Upgraded Half Moon Nails - French Manicure

French manicure

Half moon nails or the Reverse French manicure, is one of my favorite nail designs. It’s versatile so it suits any nail shape or length and it also allows for a lot of experimentation. You can do anything from loose glitter half moons to tiny edgy half moon details.
If you’re good with a nail art brush then this design is also quick to do. The key to a great looking half moon design is getting each nail identical. That’s the tricky part, particularly if you’re doing a more complex version like today’s Upgraded Half Moon design. There’s three identical lines on each nail but fear not, it’s still totally doable with just a nail brush. But if you’re not a brush-master yet, we’ve got an easier way of doing it. You’re going to love today’s tutorial!
YOU WILL NEED:
  • Peach, bright orchid and silver nail polishes
  • A fast-drying top coat
  • A thick striping nail art brush
  • Classic French manicure guides

HOW TO:
  1. Apply your favorite base and follow up with two coats of peach nail polish. Apply 1 coat of fast-drying top coat. Let it dry for 10 minutes.
  2. Once the base is is dry, apply French manicure guides* (as pictured) on all nails.
  3. With a striping nail art brush, apply silver nail polish as pictured on all nails.
  4. Accurately remove the tape.
  5. With a striping nail art brush, use bright purple nail polish fill the space between the silver lines.
  6. Accurately clean up around the cuticles and apply two coats of a clear fast-drying top coat on all nails.
*Make sure you attach the stencils really well to the nail. Poor adhesion may cause the polish bleed under the stencil (see the Step 4 photo).

10 Tips for Perfect Application of Nail Wraps

How to apply nail wraps? Before you try to apply your brand new French Twist designs, please read these application tips carefully. Each of the nail wraps are different and require slightly different approaches. These are extra long-lasting and the closest thing to a real manicure on the market, so to get them perfect, you’ll need a bit of extra effort to get the most from them but it’ll be well worth it!
After a couple of weeks of road testing the range I learned quite a few tricks that will help you get the most from each style. So read on nail art warriors!
Here’s my top 10 tips for flawless nail wrap application:
  1. The wraps are heat activated. So make sure you warm them up for for 3-5 seconds with a hairdryer or Jamberry mini first. This step is absolutely essential.

  2. After matching your nail to the nail wrap that best fits, cut it in half and use the other half for your second hand – same nail. It’s a very simple tip but many people forget and just use the whole wrap for one nail. Used properly, each sheet has enough wraps for 2 full set manicures and 1-2 pedicures.

  3. Avoid touching the sticky surface of the nail wrap when separating them from the sheet and when warning them up. Oily residue on your fingers can affect the adhesive layer and the nail wraps won’t attach properly. Use an orange stick or a pencil to pick up and warm the wrap.

  4. Like any manicure, rushing isn’t the best approach. Take your time, focus when applying the wraps and smoothing them out around the edges. If it doesn’t attached well first time, re-do it. This is essential, if not attached properly they may not last as long as intended.

  5. Make sure the surface of your nails is perfectly smooth before applying the wraps. You may need to buff your nails a little bit or use a ridge filling top coat to smooth them out.

  6. If your nails have a strong curve or if you attached wraps and you have some bubbles along the edges, heat up the nail with the nail wrap attached, smooth out the bubbles by pressing down and also slide a rubber cuticle pusher over the troublesome areas.

  7. Use a glass file or soft buffer to file off any excess using a downward motion in one direction. No backwards/forwards movements and no harsh metallic files, they can tear the wrap edges.

  8. If you have dry or brittle nails, I suggest applying 1-2 coats of your favourite nail strengthener. The wraps have very strong adhesive layers and particularly dry nails maybe susceptible to damage when you remove the wraps. Which is brings us to the next tip.

  9. Make sure you follow the removal instructions (provided on the wrap packaging) precisely. I found the easiest and fastest way is heat them up with a fan and gently peel off each nail by using a cuticle pusher or orange stick to lift them up from one side and keep pushing till you remove it completely. Wipe off any sticky residue with nail polish remover.

  10. If you want an extra-glossy look, use a top coat. I found the top coat dries very quickly when applied over the nail wraps so it won’t add much extra time to your application but it will certainly add some extra gloss!
So they’re my top tips! Do you have any tips for applying nail wraps that we could add to the list?

3 Easy Ways To Fix Chipped Nail Polish and Nail Regrowth

So you just got a shiny new manicure and you like this nail colour so much you want to keep it on forever. But then ‘Snap!’ and it chips. Or, your manicure survives the chipping but nail regrowth is too obvious. Fear not, nail art warriors, there are a few quick ways to cover it up. Keep reading to find out how to fix chipped polish and/or nail regrowth and give your plain manicure new life as a fabulous nail art!
1. How To Fix Chipped Tips

Easy! Just do a fabulous French manicure with a nail colour that compliments your base colour. First, with a flat nail art brush soaked in nail polish remover smooth the chipped area, so the edges are not sticking out like rocks. Then use these French manicure stencils to create the French Tip on all nails. Alternatively, you can freehand the French tips with a liner brush. Finish your manicure by applying 2 coats of a quick dry top coat. Make sure you ‘wrap’ your nail tips with each coat of polish and top coat to prevent further chipping. For step by step instructions with photos check out this French manicure tutorial.

2. How To Fix Nail Regrowth

Ruffian Manicure or Sideway Ruffian are the best way to cover nail regrowth. This one is a bit more complicated than a French manicure but still, totally doable. You don’t need smoothing the regrowth edges. Simply, using a curving nail art brush create an inverted half-moon detail on each nail by filling in the regrowth area with a complimenting nail colour. Alternatively (and much easier!), use these French manicure stencils to create the perfect inverted curve. Finish your manicure by applying 2 coats of a quick dry top coat.

3. How To Fix Chipped Tips AND Nail Regrowth

To cover both, chipped tips and nail regrowth combine French and Ruffian manicures in one look, as pictured. To get the look follow the steps as described above (Way 1 & 2). Also, this Edgy Nail design (includes tutorial) is a great option for covering both chipped tips and nail regrowth. And, just for the record, the green manicure pictured above is 2 weeks old. See? These techniques really work!
Now, over to you!
Have you tried any of the above techniques for fixing chipped manicure and nail regrowth? Any other ‘savior’ nail art ideas that we should add to the list? Come on, share your tips – the more the better!

Tutorial: Easy Breezy Beach Shore Nails

By popular demand today I’m sharing my signature Beach Shore nails how to. Super quick and easy it’s a perfect design for a beach holiday or any other occasion when you feel like a funky bright manicure. This nail art technique that I’m about to show you can be easily utilized for hundreds of other nail designs in any colour you like, not necessary blue. Also, it can be done in gel and shellac if you like.
Plus, in Australia, spring (which is in fact warmer then European summer) is just about to arrive! Which means bring it on beach parties, long days, warm nights and of course, bright beach nails!
Without further ado, let’s see the how to.
You will need:
  • Sand nude, teal and electric blue nail polishes / gels
  • Gold flakie foil
  • Wide flat nail art brush
  • Detailing nail art brush
  • Acetone
  • Top coat
HOW TO:
1. Apply 2-3 coats of nude nail polish on all nails and apply 1 coat of a quick drying top coat. Let it all dry for 15-20 mins.
2. Work one nail at a time. Apply electric blue on the tip of the nail and right below apply bright teal nail polish in random strokes.
3. Saturate a flat wide nail art brush in acetone and drip it over the boarders where teal and electric blue polish meet and where teal and nude meet. Gently pat the surface of polish (without touching your nail!) with a brush to help acetone to spread and create wavy pattern.
4. Repeat steps  2 and 3 over all nails.
5. Take gold flakie foil and rip a few tiny pieces using tweezers or cuticle cutters. Then using a detailing nail art brush pick up these tiny pieces and place randomly over each nail.
6. Finish your nail design with 2 coats of clear top coat.
NOTE: step 1 is very important. If you do not allow your nails to dry after applying top coat (or forget to cure gel) acetone will simply ‘eat’ through the base colour without creating the desired wavy pattern.

I hope you enjoyed this easy breezy Beach nails how to. It’s pretty easy, just make sure you follow the stepsprecisely ;)
